Jeff Arthur, known in the Ghanaian music circles as J.Formula was born and raised in Darkuman in the Greater Accra Region and has three siblings; one sister and two brothers of which he is the eldest male.
His father works for National Petroleum Authority and his mother is a Trader.
His entire dream has always been to become a professional musician though his parents wanted him to become a Banker. He knew coming out openly to ask for support from his parents in order to pursue his musical career would have broken hell lose, and so he had to keep on moving gradually on the blind side of his parents.
J.Formula attended Abibiman Academy International School (JHS) at Darkuman in the Greater Accra Region and Apam Senior High School (Apass) at Apam in the Central Region (Ghana). He also did his Diploma in Accounting at Accra Polytechnic and his degree (BSC Accounting) at University College of Management Studies.
J.Formula used to be one of the best dancers during his Senior High School days and also grew up with friends who were into music. The talent of music has always been on his finger tip growing up but it took a bit of time for him to take it serious.
He started creating music at the age of seventeen but took it to the professional level at the age of nineteen and started performing on stage after leaving Secondary School.
Eze, a Nigerian but Ghana based musicians music lunch was the first industry stage he performed held at Vienna City (Accra). He shared the stage with top Ghanaian Artist like R2bees, Tinny, Jupiter and Stay Jay.
Obrafour and Lil Wayne (American top Hip Hop artist) have been his mentors growing up into the music industry. He has been in the music industry for nine years, starting as a group but went solo along the line. He has been recording mixtapes during his years as upcoming brand both on international Hip Hop beats and Hip Life as well.
Aside doing music, he is also a Branch Manager at Family Trust Money Lending Services. What inspires him to create music and do the kind of songs he does is that: his entire life has been about listening to good songs and the daily things that happen around him.
J.Formula has never used drugs or alcohol to create a song or mount a stage in his life. He has never been in a position of playing blame games but always stand to face his responsibilities as a man, than always blaming people for everything because he always regards his mistakes as a quota to his development in life.
J.Formula wishes that, his colleagues in the music industry would help to lift the name of the Ghanaian and more importantly the African music industry to its highest pinnacle ever.
