The name Abeiku Santana has been firmly rooted in the media world for the past twenty and more years now. His contribution to broadcasting can never be overlooked for a long time to come. But, over the past couple of years, Abeiku divided his time between broadcasting and tourism earning him the name Mr Tourism.
The renowned media personality received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Media on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Pan African Executives Summit Awards 2018 where he announced in his speech that very soon he will retire from all media-related activities to go into tourism fully. He was quick to add that his umbilical cord will still be connected to media but not as first.
According to Abeiku, the decision to retire from media was a tough one because of the love he has for it, but the time has come for him to make the switch to another sector he has loved for a while now. He didn’t categorically state when he will retire.
