The lioness of Africa, Wiyaala has for the first time roared at some entertainment critics (Arnold Asamoah Baidoo and JMJ) who have continuously described her as inconsequential in the Ghanaian music industry.
In a video sighted by sammykaymedia.com, the Ghanaian international artiste said there is no need for her name to be mention during showbiz discussions if she is not counted or has never been counted in the music industry.
Wiyaala asserted that because some of her female colleagues and herself do not show their skin and also attack themselves in the media for bloggers to generate content, they are often regarded as “none-entity”.
She said, “Yes” she is concentrating on the international market because here in Ghana, there are no royalties hence ” when you do foolish songs just because you want to get attention and win few awards, you are fooling yourself ” she stated.
The lioness of Africa added “i am not an artiste of the year kind of musician, i am an artiste forever” therefore if she doesn’t really count in the industry, they should stop mentioning her name in showbiz discussion..
She entreated Entertainment critics to be circumspect in their discussion in order not to bring some musicians down because all the music industry need is peace, love and unity.
Contributing as a pundit on the bloggers forum at Ghanaweb, astute entertainment critic, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo made some submission which did not go down well with the Afro-pop musician Wiyaala.
Arnold said in his submission that “In Ghana, Wiyalaa is not out there and you and I know that for some years, she and her handlers decided that we are leaving this space for you people. Our target is the international market where we get to perform at festivals. So I’m confused about JMJ’s shout outs to Wiyaala,” he told host Abrantepa.
“You’re shouting out Wiyaala who is not even paying attention to what is transpiring in our setting. Her focus is out there and you’re also telling us that the scene within our space is down… So the correlation is weak,” he added.
