Ho High Court places injunction on EC gazetting of Hohoe MP-elect, Peter Amewu

The Ho High Court presided over by Justice George Buadi has granted an
interim injunction seeking to restrain the Electoral Commission (EC) from gazetting John Peter Amewu as MP-elect for the Hohoe Constituency.

An ex parte application was filed by Tsatsu Tsikata on Wednesday, 23rd December, 2020 which had complains of some people who hail from the towns were unable to votr in the parliamentary elections despite them voting in the presidential in the Hohoe constituency, an action which infringe on their fundamental human rights especially their right to vote.

Peter Amewu of the NPP won the seat by polling 26,952 votes representing 54.7% of total votes at the close of parliamentary elections in the constituency whereas his closest contender from the NDC, Prof. Margaret Kwaku gaining 21,821 votes.
