VGMA officially lifts ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy

A couple of weeks ago, it was widely reported that, Charterhouse will be lifting the VGMA ban placed on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy after the scuffle that erupted the awards scheme in 2019.

Well, it’s now official as in a press release today Friday, February 12, 2021, they stated that the decision to lift the ban was taken at the inaugural meeting of the 22nd VGMA Board on the 28th of January 2021.

A portion of the statement reads….“The Board agreed to admit them back to the scheme, hoping that such altercations that bring the scheme into disrepute, do not occur in future events.

This makes them eligible to participate in this and subsequent editions of the VGMA, if they so desire. By extension, their collaborative works with other artistes are eligible for participation in the VGMA.”
