Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa resigns from Parliament’s Appointments Committee

Member of Parliamrnt for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has resigned from Parliament’s Appointments Committee with immediate effect.

In a letter sighted by, dated March 30, 2021, addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Bagbin, Hon. Okudzeto explained that his decision was after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations.

A protion of the statement reads … “I shall like to state that the reasons for this difficult decision is both personal and on principle,”

He stressed that he will not be available for the vetting of President’s nominees for Deputy ministerial positions in the coming days.

Hon. Ablakwa concluded by extending his gratitude by stating .. “May I extend to you leadership of the House, the Committee of Selection and the leadership of the great National Democratic Congress (NDC), my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a member of the 6th, 7th and 8th Parliaments of the Republic of Ghana.”
