Video: The state owns about 50% of your own Child – Mr. Bright Appiah

The Executive Director of the Child Rights International Organisation, Mr. Bright Appiah has asserted that the state owns about 50% share in the life of Children.

Speaking in an interview with Ola Michael on Neat Fm, as monitored by, the Child rights advocate stated that it is enshrined in the laws of Ghana that the responsibility of one taking care of his or her own child is even handed to you by the state.

According to Mr. Bright Appiah, the recent phenomenal where instagram accounts are created for children of some Ghanaian celebrities have some future consequences.

He further revealed that anything that a parent does for a child, the child must have the capacity to express his/her opinion about it and because of the fact that these children are incapacitated to make decisions on their own, hence the need for parents to take decisions in the best interest of the child.
