Photos: Prez. Akufo-Addo swears in Dr. George Akuffo Dampare as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP)

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sworn in Dr. George Akuffo Dampare as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and becomes the nation’s 23rd Inspector General of Police.

The swearing-in and confirmation ceremony was held at the Jubilee House on Friday, October 8, 2021.

President Akufo-Addo congratulated him on his appointment, and, with no hesitation, stated that his appointment it is a well-deserved one.

The newly sworn in IGP has risen through the ranks of the Police Service, starting-off as a constable to the highest rank in the service.

He will serve, for the next four (4) years, as Inspector General of Police and rightly expressed by the President, He has demonstrated that he will be an effective leader of the Police Service, and will help foster efficiency in the service.
