A few days to Christmas and the Kantamanto market in Accra’s central business district has been gutted parts by fire.
The fire reportedly started around 10 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, and by 10:20 pm, the fire had gone out of control, some traders and onlookers upon seeing the havoc the fire can further cause called for assistance at nearby fire station.
The Fire service personnel reportedly got to the fire station at around 11 pm and help douse the fire that has destroyed many goods.
A similar incident in that same enclave occurred last month with the Accra central branch of GCB Bank when one of the bank’s offices was razed.
It remains unclear what may have started the fire but an investigation will be carried out by the Fire Sercive to ascertain what really caused it.
