NPP President aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has called on the rank and file of the party to work hard to give NDC a showdown in the 2024 general election.
Kennedy Agyapong has accepted defeat in the just ended NPP Presidential Primary on Saturday November 4, 2023. Hon. Ken said the election was free and fair and that was all that he was hoping for.
He made the pronouncements at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium during the mini rally to outdoor the newly elected Presidential Candidate.
“Let’s all put everything behind us and break the 8,” he said.
According to him, with unity NPP can break the 8. He also promised to support the NPP to win the 2024 election.
Kennedy Agyapong further congratulated the Electoral Commission, NPP Election Committee and party members for a good job done.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Bawumia polled 118210 votes representing 61.47% to beat off competition from Kennedy Agyapong Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former Minister for Agriculture and former Mampong MP, Francis Addai-Nimoh.
His closest contender Hon. Ken Agyapong polled 71,996 votes representing 37.41%.
Dr. Afriyie Akoto who placed a distant third polled 1,459 votes representing 0.76% while Addai-Nimoh garnered a meagre 731 representing 0.41%.
