The Police have arrested a police officer, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who is alleged to have shot and killed a female adult. The lady was believed to be his girlfriend.
This information was communicated to the public by the Ghana Police Service social media platforms.
The shooting incident occurred in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, on Thursday, 20th April 2023.
The suspect, who has been on the run since the incident, was arrested at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti Region. His arrest was a special Police operation, which was launched following the shooting incident.
The suspect is currently in po6lice custody and will be put before the court to face justice.
The 26-year-old Victoria Dapaa, popularly known as Maa Adwoa was shot multiple times on Thursday, May 20, 2023. The criminal act was perpetrated by a man believed to be his boyfriend on suspicion of cheating on him.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was seen chatting with the deceased for close to two hours. Before he shot her five times at close range.
The incident is said to have happened around 10pm in front of Dufie Towers behind Aseda House. After which Maa Adwoa was rushed to the Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Police immediately initiated a search for the killer who was on the run, resulting in his arrest this evening.
