The communication director at the presidency has denied reports that President Akufo-Addo has been flown to the United Kingdom, London to receive treatment for Covid-19.
The Herald Newspaper had earlier reported that President Akuffo has been flown out of the country for the treatment after testing positive for the virus citing sources at the Jubilee House.
But in a Facebook post, Mr Eugene Arhin posted a photo of the president and his family and asked the public to disregard the false publication.
He wrote,”Kindly disregard the FALSE STORY published by the Herald Newspaper to the effect that the President was on Saturday “flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment”. It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination.
The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.”
