Reggie Rockstone replies Shatta Wale for saying he didn’t make an impact with rap

During an interview with Mzgee on TV3’s morning show dubbed “New day”, Shatta Wale said he does not understand why fellow and rival artiste Sarkodie would be picking up beefs and throwing shot at him in this era when people are dying.

The “Dancehall Commando” hit maker expressed his disappointment because he said Sarkodie should be donating to the needy people by now as a form of support and later lashed out at the media for keeping mute and saying nothing about it because if he was the one to have started, they will be all over the place saying he wants to resurrect his dead brand.

He said our older folks do not enjoy rap music but rather high life music hence he blames Grandpapa Reggie Rockstone for bringing rap music to Ghana because he himself didn’t make any impact with rap music.

Fast forward, the assertion made by Shatta Wale has generated a lot of buzz on social media with people expressing divergent opinions. Notably among them was Reggie Rockstone himself.

The grandpapa disagreed with the statement made by his young friend.

According to Reggie, Shatta Wale started as a rapper before venturing into Dancehall music. He explained by saying rap music and Dancehall music have similar traits hence Shatta Wale’s claims cannot hold. He said the impact he has made with rap music is enormous which includes winning international awards and making him earned major collaborations with Dancehall artiste like Bennie Man and Wyclef.

The Godfather of rap music said rap has created employment and it is through rap music that you can mention the names of many A-list artiste in Ghana, but same cannot be said about Dancehall artiste.
