Member of Parliament for the Mfantseman Constituency in the Central region, Ekow Quansah Hayford has reportedly been shot dead.
According to reports, he was shot on the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road on his return from a campaign trip.

An eyewitness report reveals that while the robbery was ongoing, the Honourable member of parliament identified himself and that rather incensed the robbers who blamed him for the many problems being faced by people in the country.
Reports indicate the robbery incident which led to his attacked happened at about 1:00 am Friday morning by 6 armed highway robbers and was then shot twice, leading to his untimely death.
The police are yet to make any arrest as the robbers are currently on the run.
