Many individuals, ex-players, supporters and Ghanaians keep visiting the family home of Christian Atsu to commiserate with them.
Today, Friday 24th February 2023, the likes of John Mensah, John Paintsil, Sammy Kuffour and others took their turn to visit the family. They aslo signed the book of condolence.
Also, Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari and Emmanuel Agyeman Badu were some former Black Stars players to visit the family. On Tuesday, February 21 the former team mates of Christian Atsu visited to commiserate with the bereaved family.
The players were at the family home of the Ghana international to show support. This Follows the unfortunate passing away of Atsu after being a casualty of the devastating earthquake which happened in Turkey and Syria on February 6.
However, Christian Atsu was confirmed dead on Saturday, February 18, 2023. He had been trapped under rubble for 12 days having been involved in the disaster. This was a day after scoring the winning goal for his club Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig game against Kasimpasa.
Atsu’s mortal remains touched down in Ghana over the weekend. The late soccer player was received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration as well as the family.
Also, a few days ago, Football legend Abedi Ayew Pele led a delegation that paid a visit to the family house to pay tribute to the departed star’s family.
Several Ghanaians prayed for Atsu’s survival after the earthquake. But, the hope we were all seeking for was not meant to be. When the news of his death was announced, the country was thrown in a state of mourning.
As we continue to mourn as a country for his lost, we pray for his soul to rest in peace.
